Welcome to the world of Twenty-first Century Astrology

Everything changes over time and the language of Astrology has also changed. For most of us the only contact we have with the subject is through the columns using astrology as entertainment. This is interesting and fun but has no relationship to the way Astrology is practiced today. “So what is it and what is it for?” you might ask. I will explain it this way: It is a language of symbols that represent the characteristics of human beings based upon their relationship to the Sun and the planets that revolve around the Star we call the Sun. So let’s jump into the middle of the subject and talk about YOU! Following are twelve patterns of behavior. Let us say that you were born in July but the characteristics of the sign Cancer do not seem to describe you. Read the following descriptions and identify the ones that you recognize as personal traits of yours. You have just discovered a part of your real chart. You can have a chart calculated for the date, time and place of your birth or you can learn to recognize your own unique qualities and those of your friends and family.

When I first started studying Astrology about 35 years ago, I was very skeptical that the date you were born could influence your personality. It seemed illogical that planets so far away could affect human beings on the planet Earth. After much study, I became aware that the “new physics” of Einstein and Neils Bohr and others has changed the view of our Universe. It is now clear that we humans could not be isolated from the energy that swirls around us if we tried. With the scientific breakthroughs using radio, microwaves and other technology in which voice messages and electronic signals travel via satellite around the world the basis for the old astrology seems more plausible.

None of this would have any meaning unless the principles of Astrology can be used to improve the quality of your LIFE!  So I will explain the way in which I believe you can use the knowledge it reveals to help solve problems, improve your relationships with the people you love and the people with whom you work. Understanding the cycles of the planets moving through the sky can provide a timetable for organizing your life, much as the seasons of the year, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter mark the timing of different activities. It is based upon twelve principles or characteristics that you will recognize as the signs of the Zodiac.
