CAPRICORN

Capricorn represents authority. From the time you were born you were checking out who was in charge. Once that was established you were willing to follow parental authority because it was your decision. This would hold true as long as your caretakers were fair and made decisions based upon well-founded principles. Capricorn represents structure, as in the rule book, or the operating manual. Structure can include everything from the law of gravity to the very bones of your body that form its framework. You want to know the rules and you abide by the rules.

The Capricorn way is the basis of governing bodies, for example, prime minister, president, police officers, and the law (from cultural laws to stop signs). Others might find it difficult to spot a Capricorn in a group. You will usually be present where successful people gather. Your calm, alert but dignified presence is friendly but with a cool reserve. What may not show is your firm resolve to climb over any obstacle to reach the top, and you will reach the top of the mountain you have staked out as worthy of your effort.

On a personal level, you might leave the party to complete homework or prepare a report for the boss. You might be the first one in the family to get up and see that everyone else makes it to work on time. You have a good sense of money and know the value of thrift. You are responsible, cautious, hard working, and were born with executive drive.

One of the biggest mistakes others make about you is to think that you are unemotional. Just because you are in control doesn’t mean that you have no feelings. You are capable of very deep and passionate responses which allows you to bear any burden, adapt to unpleasant circumstances and keep on keeping on. That is why you, like the tortoise, make it to the finish line after others have fallen by the wayside. You may have a rather melancholy look at times and it is true that you may be saddened to realize that you must often work alone to maintain your position of power and responsibility.

Your Achilles heel is exposed when your Capricorn nature demands the respect and praise of the world around you. You must be satisfied to know that you have an inner integrity and that you are true to your own code. This quality of character will be the source of true friends, and loving companions. You tend to marry late after you have a firm grip on a career. You may not be seen as romantic but once you are established in a secure relationship, your partner will tell you they are happy to trade poems and compliments for stability, loyalty to family, and a secure financial future any day.

A truly charming fact about Capricorn is how you often reverse the aging process. You are “old” when you are young and “young” when you are old. As you grow older you may discover the youth you missed in your early years when you were so focused upon “the goal”. Children or grandchildren can bring out your playful side. A clever partner can also teach your conservative soul the pleasures of an intimate candle light supper or a walk along the beach at sunrise. You should relax and enjoy it. Don’t worry that it will distract you from your main purpose.

Capricorn is "ruled" by Saturn. Saturn and Capricorn are the symbols for your first authority figure, usually a parent, often the father, though it can be the mother. Saturn can be in any of the twelve signs and describes the influence of the Father figure in your life. You can learn a lot about your own beliefs by studying your relationship with your Dad. If it was a troubled relationship or he was absent you may have found another person to fill that role; someone you admired and respected and could use as a pattern. If you had a warm supportive relationship with your father, it will be like an annuity or money in the bank.

Saturn in your chart, will indicate who set the limits, helped you form your system of self-discipline and a code of ethics or rules for living with others. In order to know the modifying factors at work in your particular chart, you will need the day, month, year and place of your birth to learn where Saturn is strongest.
